OceanBased Perpetual Energy To Exhibit At International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE)

OceanBased Perpetual Energy is pleased to announce we will be exhibiting at this year’s virtual #ICOE2021, the International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE)!  The event will convene international stakeholders, experts and exhibitors from the ocean energy sectors (tidal, wave, ocean currents, ocean thermal gradients) with content and networking opportunities—available from anywhere in the world.

The ocean energy industry will come together at the event from April 28-30, 2021 to discuss new market developments and regulatory frameworks to spur commercialization. In addition to unparalleled opportunities to network and learn from industry leaders from around the world, ICOE 2021 provides a variety of forums for attendees to share advancements in research and technology breakthroughs.

ICOE 2021 is hosted by the National Hydropower Association (NHA), and is supported by the International Energy Agency (IEA) through Ocean Energy Systems (OES).

OES is an intergovernmental group that works on international collaboration for ocean energy in order to accelerate the development of the sector and reduce the costs of these energies.  NHA’s Marine Energy Council is the leading trade organization of the U.S. ocean energy industry, providing a united voice for the full spectrum of ocean energy technologies.

The theme for ICOE 2021 is “Energizing a Powerful Blue Economy”. NHA is excited to showcase innovations in ocean energy technology research and development, prepare ocean renewable energy to benefit the larger “Blue Economy” and the electrical grid, and identify research needed to further advance the state of the technology.

Key topic areas for panels, presentations and workshops include:

  • International Developer and Technology Showcase
  • The Future of Our Oceans and Ocean Energy’s Potential to Power the Blue Economy
  • Foundational and Cross-Cutting Research and Development
  • Enabling the Long-term Evolution of Ocean Energy Industries
  • How Do We Get There? Securing Funding, Supportive Policies, and Regulatory Acceptance

“Marine Energy is an immense and widely distributed energy resource, and in most cases, underdeveloped for medium or large-scale power generation,”  OceanBased Perpetual Energy Vice President of Marketing David House noted.  “These massive resources cannot be ignored, so we are developing a coordinated and comprehensive approach to harness ocean current energy from the Florida Gulf Stream and utilize it to convert sea water to green hydrogen. This will take a coordinated effort from industry, government, capital markets, and academia to accomplish.  We’re excited about these types of opportunities to advance the industry by the National Hydropower Association!”

OceanBased Perpetual Energy CEO Nasser M. N. Alshemaimry and David House also will be attending the National Hydropower Association‘s “Path to Clean Energy” March 30, 2021 virtual event focusing its recent report entailing “The Vast Potential of Marine Energy.”

They’ll be joining the U.S. Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies top officials and others to discuss the marine energy market, including tidalocean currentocean thermal, and riverine marine.

C-PowerVerdant Power and Oscilla Power, Inc. CEOs will discuss their recent accomplishments.

Moderated by Malcolm Woolf of National Hydropower Association, the two panels include:
