OceanBased Perpetual Energy CEO Nasser M.N. Alshemaimry will join two international ocean energy executives for a panel discussion on “Assessing the Scalability of Alternative Renewable Technology Options” as part of The Economist magazine’s 8th Annual “World Ocean Week.”

Registration is free for the entire event, which runs from March 1 through March 5, 2021.

Alshemaimry’s 40-minute segment on Thursday, March 4 begins at 12:40 (GMT).  He will be joined by Ocean Energy Europe Chief Executive Officer Remi Gruet and International Energy Agency Ocean Energy Vice Chair Yann-Hervé De Roeck.  Together, the panel will assess the scalability of tidal, wave, and ocean current energy and ask what is required from policy, investment and technology to scale these alternative solutions.

In the energy industry, scalability refers to the concept that a particular activity can be undertaken at much smaller scales than it previously has been. Thus, scalability is transforming not only the structure of energy industries, but also their regulation.

With over 5,000 attendees already registered for an all-virtual program of more than 130 speakers on six dedicated tracks, the 2021 World Ocean Summit is designed to deliver fresh, robust and action-oriented insights into creating a sustainable ocean economy.

The virtual event week offers the opportunity to access highly curated content and the chance to make meaningful connections no matter where ocean economy professionals are in the world.
